Main Building Preservation

The main masonry building was sound according to a 2019 Professional Engineer's report. However, there were maintenance/repair issues which needed to be addressed for long term building preservation purposes.

The most immediate was repair and repainting of the window systems around the building. The variety of window trim profiles suggests the age of the building, but only an expensive study of structural timbers will clarify that issue.

The largest expense was a new roof to stop water intrusion to the interior.

This created the opportunity to do two things:  cover the cinder block wall added in 1947, returning the building more to its 1900 appearance, and add windows to the upper level for more light which will be of use as an educational program develops.
